This Sweet Potato Protein Smoothie is great for drinking pre-workout!

I love smoothies and have one for breakfast at least three or four times a week. My current favourite is my Luscious Lemon Cheesecake Smoothie. They are a great way to make a dent in your 5 a day and as well as being healthy they are quick and easy.
This Sweet Potato Protein Smoothie is a great pre-workout smoothie! In addition to being an excellent source of beta-carotene, vitamin C, and fiber, sweet potatoes are made up of complex carbs, which provide the perfect source of energy. Pea protein is gaining prominence among athletes for its digestibility and for being a good source of arginine, a muscle-building amino acid. Add in some almond milk for calcium and some pecans for a hit of good fat, and you’ve got an all natural energy drink designed to give you an A+ workout.
Pro Tip: If your blender has trouble with sweet potatoes, lightly steam them to soften them up before blending.
